Branch History


The London Branch (Branch No 1) was founded in 1913, one of five Branches to be founded in that year.

The other four Branches founded in the same year were:-

Birmingham (Branch No 2)

Sheffield (Branch No 3)

Newcastle upon Tyne (Branch No 4)

and

Plymouth (Branch No 5)


The Coldstream Guards Association as a whole was formed by the then Officer Commanding the Regiment, Colonel CSO Monck.

The object of the Association was:-

  • To foster the spirit of comradeship among all ranks of the Regiment, past and present.

  • To make the Regiment known and so to assist recruiting.

  • To assist members who are leaving, or have left the Regiment to obtain employment.

  • To bring to the notice of Headquarters any case deserving of assistance from Regimental Funds which are at the disposal of the Lieutenant Colonel Commanding.
